Chris Davala 

Chris Davala is an executive media coach and speech consultant with 25 years experience as a broadcast journalist and executive in the United States and Europe. Davala began his work as a media consultant in 1986.  He is founder and president of SMARTALK, Inc. which is based in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia.

Davala conducts customized speech training and media workshops and consultations for a variety of federal sector agencies and organizations as well as Fortune 500 corporations.  They include: U.S. Department of the Air Force Senior Leadership Orientation Course, The Federal Executive Institute, NASA, U.S. Department of Justice, and a wide range of federal enforcement entities.

SMARTALK, Inc.’s client list also includes: National Security Agency, National Science Foundation, Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Treasury, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Panama Canal Commission. 

Davala provides media coaching and speech consulting to public and private sector executives in major positions of leadership and responsibility.  He coaches organizations as they develop and communicate key strategic messages to targeted publics, including assistance to the Centers For Disease Control’s Global AIDS Awareness campaign.

During a 25 year broadcast career, Davala worked as journalist, host, and news and program executive at nationally respected television and radio outlets.  Davala was news director and news anchor for Golden West Television station KAUT-TV in Oklahoma City;  broadcast executive and on-air program host for WGST-Atlanta, news director, investigative reporter, and talk show host at WSB-Atlanta, WELI-New Haven, KTOK-Oklahoma City, WRFM-New York, and WGCH-Greenwich, Connecticut - organizations honored with more than 50 awards for broadcast, journalistic, and editorial excellence. 

        He has appeared as on-camera host and mentor for WEB-TV broadcasts, Corporate Television Satellite Uplinks, and as on-camera talent for world-wide video training for Coca-Cola and Department of Veterans Affairs.

        As a U.S. Army Captain, Davala was executive officer and broadcast officer at American Forces Network, Europe in Frankfurt, Germany and a Signal Corps Officer, 34th Signal Battalion, Ludwigsburg, Germany.  He also has served on the Wall Street Journal Broadcast Advisory Board.

        He graduated from Fordham University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts.
